Inspired by the classic competition skeet vest, this distinctive English shooting waistcoat by Chrysalis reinterprets a familiar sporting silhouette in traditional country tweed. The rich Ember Check combines an earthy olive-brown herringbone with fine burnt-orange and berry-red overchecks, complemented by long tonal Alcantara shooting panels across both shoulders.
The extended shoulder panels reference the reinforced shooting patches traditionally found on competition clay and skeet vests, providing a smooth and durable area for mounting the gun. Here, Chrysalis has translated that functional detail into something altogether more refined – retaining the sporting character while giving the waistcoat the look and feel of classic English fieldwear.

Selected from Chrysalis’ private collection of sample pieces in England, this waistcoat is available in strictly limited numbers. The sizes shown are the only pieces available – once sold, they cannot be restocked.
Generous front cartridge pockets continue the practical shooting heritage of the design, while a concealed button fastening keeps the front exceptionally clean and understated. By hiding the buttons beneath the tweed placket, the focus remains on the cloth, the long Alcantara shooting panels and the strong lines of the waistcoat – a subtle tailoring detail that gives this sporting piece a distinctly more refined character.
The open V-neck and sleeveless construction allow freedom of movement and make the waistcoat easy to layer over a shirt or fine knitwear. At the back, a large game pocket adds another traditional field detail and useful additional storage.
