Chrysalis England is a British maker of traditional tweed field coats, shooting jackets, shooting waistcoats and country outerwear for men and women. Founded in 1985, Chrysalis continues to make its garments at its factory in Corby, Northamptonshire, combining traditional British tailoring with practical clothing designed for life in the field and the countryside.
Founded by Chris Blackmore, Chrysalis has built its reputation around a distinctly British approach to outerwear. Each Chrysalis garment is individually hand-cut and made by skilled craftspeople using traditional and specialised manufacturing methods. Natural fibres are central to the collection, with many of the fabrics woven in the British Isles.
Chrysalis is particularly known for its British tweed coats and country fieldwear, where traditional tailoring is combined with practical details for outdoor use. Wool tweed, loden, Alcantara trims and carefully considered linings give the garments their distinctive country character, while generous pockets, handwarmer pockets, storm cuffs and adjustable waists feature across many of the shooting and field styles.
Chrysalis Field Coats incorporate a waterproof and breathable membrane interliner, designed to provide additional protection and comfort while retaining the cut, appearance and character of a traditionally tailored English coat. This combination of weather protection and classic tailoring is one of the defining features of Chrysalis outerwear.
The clothes are not designed solely for shooting. Chrysalis creates styles that are equally at home in the field or beyond it, combining genuine outdoor function with an understated British country aesthetic.
